If ongoing maintenance sounds tedious, boring, or otherwise undesirable, I get that. I ran my development agency, Copper Leaf Creative, for years focused on new development projects. It’s creative, fun, and fulfilling. Maintenance really can be a drag by comparison, but the clients need it.
I propose you do what you’re best at – developing awesome new sites for clients, while we do what we’re best at – maintaining and supporting those sites and clients.
We’re on your team. We will take care of your client and make you look good. Nervous? Don’t be. We are dead serious about never poaching a mutual client from their original developer. It’s actually in the first section of our contract terms (the second paragraph of the “no assholes” policy).
Furthermore, we’d like to sweeten the pot a little. We will pay you $250 per sign-up for any client you refer to us – at any plan level.
Feeling like a high achiever? When you have referred 5 clients who signed up for a woobetter plan (again, at any plan level), we will consider you a “woobetter VIP” – Very Important Partner. Now it really gets good. As a woobetter VIP, you can opt to get paid you $20/month, every month, for the life of a referred client on a woobetter plan – including on the first 5 sign-ups. That means at your fifth sign-up you will have taken home $1,500 in one-time sign up bonuses, and are now collecting $100/month ($20 X 5 sign-ups) in perpetuity. New sign-ups starting with your 6th will add to your monthly payment, however, the one-time referral bonus is reduced to $100 per sign-up. (You will earn $340 on a new sign-up in the first year – $100 one-time sign up bonus + $20 X 12 months.)
